Who are we?

The Higher Committee of Human Fraternity is an independent international committee instituted to promote human fraternity values in communities around the world. Our mission is to fulfill the aspirations of the Abu Dhabi Document on Human Fraternity, whereby we aim to foster peace, mutual respect, and coexistence among people of all backgrounds through dialogue, cooperation, and global engagement.

Establishment

The Higher Committee of Human Fraternity was established on August 15, 2019 after the signing of the Abu Dhabi Document by His Eminence Grand Imam Al-Azhar Professor Ahmed Al-Tayeb and His Holiness Pope Francis Head of the Catholic Church February 4 of that year. We serve as a global platform for advancing , mutual embrace, cooperation and solidarity all towards our aim in building a more inclusive and harmonious world.

The Timeline Signing of the Document on Human Fraternity

His Holiness Pope Francis, head of the Catholic Church, and His Eminence Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, issue and sign the Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together, in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The Zayed Award for Human Fraternity is jointly bestowed on His Holiness Pope Francis and His Eminence Ahmed Al-Tayeb.
