How can curiosity and dialogue
bring peace to the world?
On February 4, 2019, Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar met in Abu Dhabi to sign the Document on Human Fraternity—a joint statement calling for the reconciliation of people of goodwill in service of universal peace. That bold act inspired us. With the support of the United Arab Emirates, who themselves are deeply committed to harmonious coexistence through dialogue and understanding, we formed the Higher Committee of Human Fraternity.
We believe humans' capacity for dialogue and understanding is vital to harmonious coexistence.
In an increasingly fragmented world that continues to suffer from extremism and intolerance,
nurturing and cultivating this capacity is essential for future generations to thrive and prosper together.
Today, we are religious leaders representing Islam, Christianity and Judaism. Tomorrow, we hope to represent many more—those seeking to bring peace through mutual understanding. We aspire to have an impact at a global scale—and we soon will be sharing that emerging purpose and vision with influential and prominent leaders from different religions, organizations, governments and more.

On September 20, 2019, we gathered to engage a larger community of people of faith and goodwill to begin a bold, new journey toward a more peaceful future for all.
On February 4, 2019, The Human Fraternity Conference was held in conjunction with the visit of His Holiness Pope Francis, Head of the Catholic Church and His Eminence Dr Ahmad At-Tayyeb, Grand Imam of Al Azhar Al Sharif to the UAE, to discuss the promotion of human fraternity and world peace.
